MEDIATION

With the increasing cost of litigation, our firm recognizes the importance of negotiating a settlement before a lengthy and potentially expensive trial.  Mediation is an effective means of resolving disputes before a lawsuit has been filed or during the course of litigation.

ARBITRATION

Our firm believes that although certain cases can only be resolved by traditional litigation, many matters can be best handled through Arbitration.Arbitration provides a cost effective, timely, and efficient means of resolving disputes in all areas of the law.

OUR MEDIATORS/ARBITRATORS

David Hamilton is certified as a mediator by the North Carolina Administrative Office of Courts, and as a commercial and construction arbitrator by the American Arbitration Association.  Mr. Hamilton has spoken extensively on alternative dispute resolution in a variety of forums, including seminars presented by both the North Carolina and Mecklenburg County Bar Associations.  He has acted as an arbitrator and mediator in hundreds of matters ranging from family law to construction disputes over the past 15 years.

Robert Stephens has been an arbitrator certified by the American Arbitration Association since 1973.  Mr. Stephens has served as arbitrator in dozens of construction related matters.  With over 30 years of experience in construction law, Mr. Stephens has a firm grasp of all construction related issues.

Jack Steele is certified as a mediator by the North Carolina Administrative Office of Courts and by the United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina.  Mr. Steele is also certified by the American Arbitration Association as a construction and commercial mediator and arbitrator.  He has acted as a mediator or arbitrator in numerous commercial and construction disputes over the last 15 years.
